Our library at Gatehouse is a wonderful open plan space, bright and inviting, situated at the reception area of the school.
We provide an extensive and ever growing catalogue of books and resources for all students and teachers and are committed to finding the right book for each child, whatever their interest, ability or request.
Book lists are available for each year group and are continuously updated to reflect the wealth of children’s literature available.
Highlights of the Gatehouse library calendar include:
World Book Day where we delight in the creativity and effort of all children (and staff!) to dress up as their favourite book character.
Our annual Book Fair where each child will receive a book token to spend on a selection of new and exciting titles.
Author visits where the children have the opportunity to spend time, attend workshops and ask questions to esteemed authors such as Ross Montgomery and Stephen Davies.
Reading at Gatehouse is a passion and each year group from Nursery through to Year 6, has a scheduled library session, incorporating stories, guided and independent reading and drama to encourage, engage and inspire our children to enjoy a lifelong appetite for reading.
